The house is isolated right by the A6 motorway, so it works well if you want to make noise without disturbing anyone. The owner is friendly and answers questions. There are two refrigerators, which came in handy, and enough beds, though all but three are upstairs. In summer that can be a problem: it gets extremely hot up there, and the small windows don’t let the temperature drop much at night. When we stayed, the eight of us had to sleep in the only downstairs room. The pool is about 50 meters from the house, with no steps and no shade. There were no sun loungers nearby like in one of the photos, so bring your own umbrellas. Getting there means walking through overgrown, sharp stubble, which makes a quick barefoot dip impossible and sitting by the pool with a towel very uncomfortable. The barbecue is just a piece of metal that works for a meal, but that’s all it is. The gas oven didn’t work well either. It took two hours to cook three small pizzas. There also weren’t enough plates, cutlery, and other basics for 15 people. The upstairs shower leaks into the room below, despite the owner telling us, “I’ve been told it’s stopped leaking.” In my view, the house needs a lot of repairs and upkeep. The price isn’t much different from houses with more amenities. What you’re really paying for is being away from civilization, if that’s what you want.

The rooms get bright in the mornings, since there are no blinds. We also found the sofas in the living room quite worn, unlike the reference photo, and there was no bedroom with bunk beds as shown. Cleanliness was practically nonexistent: the sheets were stained, the kitchen utensils had cobwebs on them, and we couldn’t get the oven working. The fridge was missing shelves and the freezer had no drawers. There were neglected or broken things all over the house that hadn’t been fixed. The upstairs bathroom leaked into the living room. We spent a weekend with friends, and when we arrived the house didn’t look like the photos. Then, while we were getting ready to cook, we found a dead shrew, something like a mouse, in a saucepan. Obviously, we didn’t cook. We understand that small mammals might turn up in a country house, but the lack of cleaning and maintenance was clear. If animals do get in, there must be ways to deal with it, such as keeping kitchen utensils off the floor.

For the price, this was a great deal for a weekend with friends. The house was comfortable and had the basic amenities we needed. The pool was great too. In summer, it might be worth bringing a fan since, as usual, it can get pretty hot. A really good experience.

There are plenty of beds, and the house is really comfortable for a group of friends. The kitchen is open, so we could all hang out together, and the owner was very friendly and helpful. We could make all the noise we wanted. There’s a barbecue with a great covered spot for using it when it rains. We’ll definitely come back.
