Jardines de Nivaria Hotel

The grounds outside the hotel were pleasant for walking, especially if you turn right and follow the beach path before cutting back inland for a quicker return. There are shopping centres nearby and plenty of restaurants for anyone not on half board. We had a lovely, well-equipped room overlooking the pool. It was very quiet at night, the shower was great, and extra wardrobe hangers arrived quickly when we asked. My partner found the bed a little hard, but a different pillow grade helped. We set the morning alarm using the hotel station on the room TV. Wi-Fi generally worked well, and we had fun with the small putting green. The pool area was relaxing and well designed. Sunbeds were always available, towels could be changed when needed, and the water temperature was great. Staff were on hand for drink orders, rubbish bins were emptied regularly, and there was a lunchtime restaurant, juice bar and ice cream cafe. Breakfast had a great selection, and the table staff were attentive. We also ate dinner there, with plenty of choice. You could have table service or pick from the buffet, and even at the buffet you could wait for food to be cooked and plated. The sauteed prawns were especially good, and I enjoyed the maritime evening. We didn’t try the a la carte restaurant, so I can’t comment on it. Downstairs, a circular bar is surrounded by a big seating area, with around 20 seats at the bar itself. The bar and waiting staff were friendly and good at their jobs. We tried a few cocktails, all expertly made. There was usually evening music, including cover bands and dancing. My partner had stayed here last year with our daughter and thought I’d like it too. On arrival, the staff were very welcoming and informative. The food, facilities and service all made for a lovely stay, and I’d be very happy to return.

We’ve stayed here twice now, and the location couldn’t be better. Everyone is friendly and service minded, the room maid did an excellent job, and breakfast was top notch. The pool was heated and very clean, with plenty of sunbeds and no stressful need to reserve one. Shower pressure was good, there was lots of hot water, and the Wi-Fi worked everywhere. Pool bar prices were fair too. A few things would have made it perfect: the huge bed was a bit hard, I missed softer, fluffier pillows, and in January I wanted a decent duvet. With those changes, it’d be 100% perfect. I’d highly recommend a stay.

Playa del Duque felt like the better beach choice for us if you want somewhere less crowded and more authentic than Playa de Fañabé. It’s still beautiful, with a more relaxed feel and fewer of the Full English Breakfast, Indian and Chinese takeaway restaurants catering to British crowds. We were pleasantly surprised by Jardines de Nivaria in almost every respect. Our room had a partial sea view, enough to remind us we were by the ocean, though it wasn’t a full panorama. The hotel itself is stunning, combining modern comforts and classic upscale American-style touches with Canarian warmth. The lush gardens, art deco influences, detailed architecture and stained-glass dome above reception all stood out. The buffet breakfast was a real highlight, with lots of choice and fresh, delicious food. Staff were helpful, attentive and consistently polite. The location is excellent too, about 15 minutes from the airport, with direct access to Playa de Fañabé and a handy base for exploring Costa Adeje. The pool was fantastic. We went in low season, so it wasn’t too crowded, and waiting staff came by often. Jardines de Nivaria made for a luxurious, relaxing stay, especially for couples or travellers who value comfort, good breakfasts, attractive surroundings and attentive service. It’s good value, particularly if you choose your room and dining options carefully.

The staff we met were all so friendly and helpful. We loved the beautiful hotel, its spacious-bathroom rooms and stunning gardens. The large pool area was pleasantly heated too. First class.
