Club Olympus in Garden City

We spent a week here with friends. The hotel was clean, friendly and well located, and our roomy room had a large balcony over the pool and pool bar. The bar had good prices for food and drinks, plus afternoon entertainment on a couple of days.

Club Olympus helped us with check-in after our flight was diverted to Lisbon because of a medical emergency. They left the keys in a safe box, and we’re grateful. We rented two apartments for the extended family for my wife’s 40th birthday. Both were lovely and clean, with good ocean views and plenty of towels. The balconies had plenty of seating. I was on a tighter budget than I’d normally be for a trip with my wife, but the cleanliness and basic facilities matched or even beat places I’ve stayed before. The on-site shop was good, the pool was excellent, and the pool bar was excellent too. The lifeguard was a character and a gentleman. There were stunning views from the front and back of the apartments, and local parking was available. We loved it and will be back.

We couldn’t travel because of visa issues, so we contacted the hotel ahead of time to ask for a refund or a change of dates. They refused both and said the visa problem was our responsibility. I understand that hotels have policies, but we weren’t cancelling at the last minute and had given them notice. Their complete lack of flexibility or basic empathy was extremely frustrating and felt inhumane.

Absolutely gorgeous place, nothing negative to say. The beds were comfortable, the wifi was okay, and we had lovely views from both balconies. La Gomera was the first thing I saw when I woke up. One night I heard someone talking loudly, but otherwise it was quiet.
