GF Gran Costa Adeje

We were there at half term when the hotel was full, but the adults-only rooftop pool gave us a way to avoid the busy main pools, where families were enjoying their holidays. The hotel is a short walk from bars and restaurants, and the beach is about ten minutes away. We stayed half board and were very pleased with our visit. It's our third time at GF Gran Costa Adeje, and like the previous stays, it was excellent. The rooms have recently been refurbished, are spacious, and have excellent facilities, including great air conditioning. Food was fresh, and the excellent team were happy to help with requests. The hotel was very clean, and the staff were always available to help. We hope to return soon.

There was entertainment at the pool each day, including aqua gym, a bouncy castle, a water carpet, and games, which is a bonus when traveling with kids. The adults-only rooftop pool has a stunning view of the beach and mountains. Our room was very spacious and had a balcony, and the hotel and room were exceptionally clean. Staff were friendly and helpful with advice and information. We chose bed and breakfast, and the variety was amazing. The beach is a five to ten minute walk away, with lots of restaurants to choose from. Loved this hotel, really recommend it.

We found a bed at the pool at any time of day, thanks to staff removing towels and belongings from sunbeds left unoccupied before 10am. That was a definite plus for us. The hotel is clean, pleasant, and has friendly staff and good facilities, though some things disappointed us. All-inclusive food was the biggest issue: guests paying separately get brilliant variety and choice, while the included options felt basic and limited. The children's park can only be used by kids signed into the kids' club, which was frustrating since we expected it to be open to families staying at the hotel. The room mini fridge was advertised as stocked, but it wasn't. Family rooms also felt cramped once a cot was added, with little space to move around or get down the side of it. Some people even washed sandals and flip-flops in the pool. This doesn't put me off returning, but I wouldn't pay the top-end all-inclusive price again. I'd choose bed and breakfast instead. The hotel is advertised as a five-star experience, and these areas could be better.

We had a lovely stay and would definitely return. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well maintained, and reception staff were very helpful. As we had a late flight, we were able to use a courtesy room to shower. It was good to see management picking up towels and belongings left on sunbeds that had been claimed in the morning and left empty. We did see some selfish people washing their sandals and flip-flops in the pool. Our other issue was asking for house wine and being served and charged for a more expensive bottle, apparently because staff didn't know the options or hadn't been trained properly.
