It’s a quiet spot that suited us for relaxing, and it didn’t feel overly touristy. We enjoyed walking down to Puerto colon and back most mornings, especially the stretch by the port. There are nice cafes and restaurants close by, and every place we tried was excellent. A few supermarkets are nearby for basics; Mercadona was cheaper when we walked a bit farther. Carrying the bags back uphill was fine, though for a big shop I’d take a taxi. Our bungalow was spacious, very clean and had everything we needed. We got fresh towels and bedding twice, with cleaners coming both times, which was a nice extra for self catering. Check-in was easy, and although we booked through a third party, Haciendas sent the information we needed before we arrived. I emailed some questions too. They sometimes replied quickly, but other times I had to follow up. A couple of things to know: the mattress was firm, which made sleep harder for us since we don’t like that. The en-suite and separate WC had a sewage smell that came and went each day. We didn’t mention it to reception because we didn’t want workmen or staff coming in during our holiday, and we kept the WC door shut since we only used the en-suite. There are a lot of stairs on the hill, so it may not suit people with small children, buggies or mobility issues. Still, we had a brilliant 10-night holiday and would come back.

The views were incredible, and later in the day the unheated pools were lovely. No one else was using them. The staff were really nice, and the place was so clean. The apartment had everything we needed. If I’m being picky, a pizza tray and a baking tray would have been useful, but we had a wonderful stay.

Everything about the complex was 10/10. The staff were lovely, and our apartment was spacious, spotless and had all we needed for a self catering holiday. It’s a little out of town, but a taxi gets you back from town in five minutes if you don’t fancy walking up the hill.

We paid extra for a sea view and got a view of the parking area instead, with no refund. There wasn’t any parking available in the evening, so we had to walk. Reception weren’t helpful, and they only work a few hours a day, leaving you to handle problems yourself with self check-in and check-out. Our room was for five but had no sheets for the fifth person and no dining chair for them. We left on an early flight, and they kept the 25e deposit for the second key with no intention of refunding it. This was the worst place I’ve stayed at in Tenerife.

We stayed in room 450 for seven days with three young children, and getting around was a daily struggle. We booked Hacienda Village but were put in the neighbouring part, Hacienda lv. After arriving late, there were no reception staff around. We had a code to enter the complex but no clear directions to our apartment. With suitcases and a double buggy, we had to carry everything up four steep flights of stairs to the highest part of the complex. There was no lift. Later we found a very steep slope that you might manage with a buggy if you’re fit. I’d avoid this place with young children or mobility problems. Finding the apartments and moving around was difficult, and the booking had given us the impression we’d get a luxury apartment. The view was the only good part. We made the best of a bad situation, but there may be better located apartments and I wouldn’t risk it again. I’ll research more carefully next time. The staff were friendly, but only on site from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, so you could be stuck with a problem and no one to help.
