Playaolid Suites and Apartments

Iva was so warm and kind, and her hospitality was 10/10. Cristina and Miguel at the bar made things even more fun and special. Miguel is such a gentleman. Really, all the staff were brilliant and helpful. We had a spacious room with a comfortable bed and everything we needed, and room service was great. The food changed from day to day and everything we tried was delicious. They prepare meat fresh and cook it in front of you if you prefer. There were plenty of loungers and both pool bars were very nice. Loved the place from check-in, and hated having to leave, but that’s the holiday ending, haha. We’ll definitely be back.

The location is excellent, with shops, good restaurants and beaches close by. Hotel Playaolid offers good value overall, and the evening entertainment was a bit of fun. The rooms were spacious and clean, staff friendly and hardworking, and maintenance responded quickly whenever something needed fixing. Some areas could use an update. There were plenty of food choices, and the restaurant team worked hard to keep things clean and well stocked. The cold continental food, fruit and hot omelettes were very good. The hot beef and pork dishes served at every meal seemed a little low quality, but the food was decent overall. A couple of room annoyances: pushing two single beds together doesn’t make a double, and the overhead light fan was noisy. The TV was small, and the WiFi wasn’t good enough to run a Fire Stick.

We had a nice week here with my two children. It’s a three star hotel, so keep that in mind. The pools aren’t huge, but they never seemed too crowded and we always found loungers. Rooms are a good size, though ours looked a bit tired. Food was decent, with a limited but reasonable choice for a hotel that isn’t very large. Evening entertainment ran for about half an hour and was okay, so we chose the bits we fancied. It’s a 10-15 minute walk down to the beach or over to the markets. Nothing to complain about, and I’d go back.

The restaurant food was fantastic, with plenty of variety, and the front of house team there were great. The waitstaff, though, were far too quick to clear things away. They often took plates before we’d finished, and once they even took our full drinks before we’d had a chance to get any food. The hotel is well kept and has good facilities. Rooms are spacious, with a large balcony and kitchenette, but the furnishings and finishes are dated and could use a refurb. It’s a good option for staying in Tenerife if you’re planning to explore and go on excursions.
