Twin Fin Surf Camp - Hostel

The best part was the beautiful sunsets. The rest made for a difficult stay. Almost every night there was a party, with music often going until 2 or 3 AM, so getting to sleep after a day out was nearly impossible. Cleanliness was concerning, and when I got into my room, cats were roaming around, including on the bed. The property is being renovated and felt like a construction site, but that wasn't mentioned when booking, and the photos seem quite old. It's also a long way from the main road, about a 20-minute uphill walk from the bus. I was traveling alone and had to make sure I got back before dark, since there's no lighting on that path. I hate leaving a review this negative, but people should know what to expect.

I booked the “4 Elements Summer Pack” for seven nights, expecting the advertised surf and yoga program: three surf lessons, five yoga classes, breakfasts, dinners, camp activities and access to proper facilities. More than half the services I paid for weren't delivered. Several website activities never happened, and the schedule kept changing without clear communication, leaving guests unsure what was going on. When I brought up the problems, the replies were dismissive and didn't reflect what was actually happening. The camp was loud, dusty and chaotic, with construction everywhere. It looked nothing like the photos. This was meant to be a relaxing surf and yoga break, but it became so frustrating that I changed my flight to leave early. I rarely post reviews, but this was disappointing enough that I feel others should know. I hope the camp fixes these serious organizational problems and is clear about what it really offers.

I booked in November, then got a message just two days before arriving that the place had changed its name. Friends told me guests were being made to pay extra in cash for their accommodation. If nobody had warned me, I could have arrived abroad and ended up in a miserable situation. Avoid booking here. A holiday should be relaxing, not leave you worried about where you'll stay or your state of mind.

We arrived to find sand on both beds, and the cleanliness was only average. Cats wander into the rooms and climb into the beds, and they're hard to get out. One scratched itself all night in our room, which made me wonder if it had fleas. If the property has animals, they should be kept from guests' beds. The rocky road also makes getting to the hostel difficult, especially by car. And yes, I stayed here with my friend Monika, who booked it on Booking. :)
