The house was clean, and so were the towels and sheets. It’s ready for a quiet weekend, whether you go as a couple or with family to disconnect. The village is small, so there isn’t much going on. There were a few spiders, though I suppose they have more right to be there than those of us visiting. These are beautiful old houses for anyone who appreciates their history and setting. They have thick stone walls and small windows, which makes sense in a cold climate. The house is equipped, but better mattresses would improve the stay.

The house looked lovely and had plenty of space, but it was freezing. The first night we slept at 13.5 degrees, and from early morning onward it was 14 degrees. It was just as cold the following day. Three of us were sick with fevers and other symptoms, and it wasn’t COVID. We’d already paid, and when we told the owner, he said, “Oh, next time I’ll turn it on a few days earlier.” As the manager, he should know those huge stone walls would leave the house freezing, especially with the kitchen window broken and unable to close. I can’t help thinking he figured we were just women visiting for a weekend and wouldn’t return, so he didn’t care if we were cold and could save money. We paid 400-something euros to sleep in 14-degree heat, which is a fucking unsuitable temperature for an overnight stay. There was no garden, and the house next door had the same problem, a man and his son were staying there. The circuit breakers tripped in all the houses too. Beautiful place, but a rip-off.

It’s a lovely place, but so isolated. The nearest coffee shop is 5 kilometers away, and they couldn’t even leave a coffee maker in the house. Such a disappointment. There’s a toaster, so what am I supposed to have with my toast, water?

It’s a quiet house in a quiet village, but I wouldn’t recommend it or come back. The cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired: the microwave was dirty, there was dust on the floor, and the windows had cobwebs. There wasn’t enough cutlery, the hot water failed on two out of five days, and there’s a beehive on the roof.

We were really comfortable in the houses in Valoria. Everything was very clean and well equipped, and the village was quiet and clean too. A wonderful stay, 100% recommended.
