Rural Casa de los Camellos Hotel

The garden and building are lovely, and the hotel feels cozy right in the middle of Aguimes old town. The main drawback is how much sound carries between rooms. You can hear everything the person next door says or does.

The service was wonderful, and the staff made us feel as if we were staying with our favorite aunt. We spent a couple of days at this magnificent place downtown Agüimes, in a main building that’s an architectural gem. “Fortunately,” there was a curfew during our stay, so nights were very quiet. During the day, though, we could hear every word from people passing along the alley beside our room, even though we were on the top floor. In normal times, quiet nights might be hard to come by.

There’s everything you need nearby, and the area feels very safe. This small hotel has a lovely traditional feel, with comfortable rooms furnished in a relaxing style and a very friendly staff. The location is perfect. The only thing to keep in mind is that there’s no locker room if you need one. I’d strongly recommend it for families too.

We chose to have breakfast at a local bar, but the hotel does offer a simple self-serve breakfast with sliced meat and cheese. The hotel is well laid out, and the rooms were clean and tidy. Staff were very helpful from the moment we arrived.
