Casa Lascorz

Dinner on the patio was delicious, beautifully presented, and had that lovely home-cooked feel. The stone house itself is gorgeous and sits somewhere wonderfully peaceful. Our room and bathroom were both roomy and comfortable, and Ben and Corinne were so kind and ready to help.

The food was a highlight, especially the ratatouille, which I have to admit was better than my mother’s, even 100 times better ;-). Breakfast and dinner were the best we had in the region, all fresh and really tasty. We spent two nights in this lovely old-stone casa, renovated inside, and enjoyed how calm and charming it felt. The owners were so welcoming and gave us lots of hiking advice. We’ll be back as soon as we can.

Corinna and Ben made the stay. They were attentive with us and the other guests, patiently answered all my questions about where to go, and were always willing to help. They even found a way to charge our electric car right then, which made it possible for us to get out and enjoy the area. The house was rebuilt by the owners, keeping the old character while adding modern comforts. Our welcoming room was spacious, with a huge bathroom and an enormous old-fashioned tub where everyone in our family got to relax. The glass-enclosed shower had good pressure and water at just the right temperature. The tap water tasted great too. The setting is quiet, with fields, crops, birds, nature, and spectacular views. It also works well as a base: Google Maps put places like Monte Perdido and Vall de Pineta under an hour away, while Ainsa was 15 minutes away, along with canyons, rivers, castles, and plenty more. The house is cosy, and we stayed three days at the end of October. Breakfast was a great start to the day, with several kinds of toast, lovely jams, cold meats, yogurt, cereal, cheese, homemade cakes, and plenty of coffee and tea. We didn’t get to try the dinners, which need to be booked ahead, though other guests said they were delicious. We’ll have to come back for those. It’s quiet but central to a lot of things, very well run, and we left wishing we could stay and live there. Definitely recommend it.

If quiet, pastoral surroundings are your thing, this place is hard to beat. My partner and I loved it, one of the best places we stayed during our Spain trip. The hosts were so welcoming, and they’re great cooks.
