Eira do Mar

The pool setup was fantastic, with separate pools for adults and children, plus loungers and a parasol. Inside, the apartment had everything for a lovely stay, and there was a thoughtful welcome touch. The person who helped us was friendly and very attentive. We just missed having a high chair for our 2-year-old. We'd happily return, and definitely recommend it.

The barking dogs from several other guests made it hard to enjoy the peace and quiet we wanted. There were no children with us. I also found a few maintenance issues: holes in the ceilings that could be filled, electrical noise from the TV even when it was off, and windows that didn't seal properly. On a couple of cool days, drafts came through, and the only duvet was much too thick. The pool is a good size and enjoyable, though some of the bottom tiles need repair. Apartment 204 has lovely views, and it's spacious enough not to feel cramped. The initial cleaning was mostly adequate, but there was a musty, perhaps tobacco-like smell when we arrived, as if the place hadn't been aired between guests. I noticed dust on some surfaces and the shower screen needed a better clean. There was no hand soap, and the toilet paper supplied clearly wasn't enough for a normal stay. The kitchen was usable, with a good oven and a surprisingly powerful microwave, but it lacked enough cookware and utensils for more than very basic cooking. On the plus side, the welcome drinks were appreciated, as was the code access that meant no keys to keep track of. The laundry room included detergent, and the family-sized fridge had a decent freezer. Eira do Mar has a lot going for it, including its spacious apartments and good facilities, but more attention to cleaning, upkeep, and basic supplies would make the stay much better.

We stayed in October as four adults and one child, and found the apartment very clean. The linens and towels were excellent, and Josep looked after us brilliantly from the start. The grounds and interiors are attractive and well maintained, while the pool and surrounding area were both very clean. There are sun loungers, plus free secure parking within the complex. Entry, including the outside gate, is by code, so there's no need to carry keys. We couldn't find a single downside. A sea-view room is well worth requesting if you'd like to watch a beautiful sunset. We'd definitely return.

The rooms are large and the apartments are quite nice, with good views, a good location, and easy parking. Still, the kitchen setup is a real problem: there are no kitchen utensils for cooking, no suitable paella pans, no kitchen roll, and just one roll of toilet paper. For a tourist rental, I think the basics should be provided instead of making guests buy everything on their first day. The bedroom blind broke as soon as we arrived and couldn't be repaired, so the window stayed dark. Loose pool tiles were coming off whenever anyone got in. The place needs maintenance.
