Menorca Experimental

The setting is what stands out most, beautiful, unique, and absolutely stunning. But the small portions felt hard to justify at those prices. It’s a lovely place, though the value for money left us disappointed.

The food was just okay, nothing spectacular, and the wine we ordered on the side never got served. The dishes also didn’t arrive together. They said that was intentional because the meal is meant for sharing, though it came across more like a kitchen logistics issue. The atmosphere, at least, was great.

The place itself is really beautiful and worth exploring, and the bartender was welcoming with a nice vibe. I liked how carefully the dishes were prepared and presented, but four dishes still left me hungry. The portions felt overrated for the price, and the starters were more like appetizers. We waited almost 40 minutes for the last dish. I also asked for an espresso macchiato and got a cappuccino, which shouldn’t happen in a place like this. The welcome at the entrance felt superficial. I’d check the place out, but I’m not sure about dinner.

We went for lunch on my birthday, and the setting was perfect. My partner had emailed a few days ahead, and they surprised me with a chocolate brownie and a candle. I was really pleased with both the food and the service on our first visit to Menorca Experimental restaurant. All the food came at once, which is how their small plates and sharing concept works. We’ll definitely return to try the dinner menu and stay at the hotel.
