Alajar looks almost like a film set, with white houses, little piazzas, and narrow lanes leading to a surprising range of shops, bars, and restaurants. We loved our three-night stay, walking around town, eating too much, and swimming at the beautiful open-air town pool, which only opens in July and August. The hotel has new management and has been fully refurbished. Our room was simple, spacious, spotless, and had superb air con. Coral was a lovely host and spoke great English. Breakfast was a self-service continental spread, but Coral also made me scrambled eggs. She had Yorkshire Tea too, a very welcome surprise for this Yorkshireman. We’ve already booked again and would love to come back in cooler months to walk and maybe cycle in the hills.

Coral and Luis have recently refurbished the rooms, and the main sitting area has a lovely fireplace and wooden ceilings. There’s WiFi and a nice breakfast in the morning. The posada Hotel is just a short walk from the square, so it’s peaceful while still being close by. Alajar is a small town that manages to feel calm and lively at once, with busy bars around the main square serving good food. We’ll definitely be back.

Coral is absolutely delightful, and we felt very comfortable throughout our first visit as a couple. The room is lovely and the bed very comfortable. The bathroom is perhaps a little small, and everything was renovated just over two years ago. Breakfast came with the accommodation and was buffet style, with coffee, several kinds of bread, fruit, and more. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, just steps from the Town Hall Square. Thank you for everything.

The owner was wonderful, and the service couldn’t have been better. Our room was very large and clean, with every detail carefully considered. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty to choose from, and the facilities were spacious and very well maintained. We’ll definitely return. For us, it was a 10.

Just a minute from Alajar's lively square, the inn is a great base for mountain hikes. The room was bright, spacious, and very clean, and breakfast was excellent, especially enjoyed in front of the fireplace. The owner is friendly and charming, and made our stay feel special. A wonderful place for a few relaxing days.
