Ca Sa Tieta

The rooms are pretty, but very small and inconvenient. I saw room n2 as well as staying in room n4, and both lacked space for our things, which mostly stayed in suitcases on the floor. The sink was outside the bathroom in the bedroom area, with no counter space or soap, and I couldn’t see where soap could go. There were also waves of a very distinct sewer smell. Breakfast was disappointing: the bread was stale and there were no vegetables. We spoke with the manager/owner by phone about moving rooms for the last night, but the staff hadn’t been told and asked us to sort it out again. We left things as they were because that was the last thing we wanted to deal with on vacation. If you need quiet sleep, ask for a room facing the courtyard. There’s occasional street noise, and the rooms aren’t soundproof as described. You can hear the street and neighbors talking, snoring, and watching TV. The “Double Delux” label is misleading: the rooms are all the same, with no deluxe features, and the designation just means a booking for one or two people. There’s no street parking, but the municipality provides a free parking lot next to BipBip supermarket. Getting a stop during the season might be very tough.

They charged me twice for our room and haven’t responded to help fix the issue, which made for a bad experience. The rooms are fine, but the staff and overall atmosphere left a very negative impression. There’s no one at the front desk, either, so check-in took 20 minutes.

The little garden is so picturesque, and the place itself feels cozy and beautiful. The staff were really friendly. You’ll need a car to get there, though there’s no parking on site. We found a large free public car park about a five-minute walk away. Highly recommend.

Alaro is a welcoming village, with several restaurants, bars and shops, and the bus connects well with the train to Palma. The hotel is lovely and full of character. Breakfast can feel crowded, but that’s a small drawback for staying somewhere so quaint. Eva handles check-in, shows guests around, makes breakfast, cleans the rooms and changes the linens, all while working incredibly hard and helping tourists who speak very little Spanish 😀 We had a fabulous break 👍
