The views were spectacular, and everyone was friendly. The food was good, and the campground was impeccable. We stayed one night with our child and a power wheelchair, using the adapted cabin. It’s thoughtfully designed, but it won’t fit a chair wider than a standard power wheelchair, 700 mm (27.5 in.). It was a little cold in the evening even with the heat turned all the way up. The path is a mix of dirt and gravel, which may be difficult for some wheelchairs, especially manual ones. My power chair gets stuck in deep gravel, but it didn’t get stuck here. One thing to know if you’re coming by wheelchair: there’s no sidewalk on the street, and cars sometimes drive down it too fast, leaving nowhere to get off the road. That isn’t a problem inside the campground, but it can be dangerous if you’re walking in from the nearest town. Go in daylight, because it’s completely dark at night and drivers won’t see you. Even with those cautions, I highly recommend this place to wheelchair users who enjoy nature.

The pool was great, and we spent all afternoon there, though they could use a few more pool beds. My daughter also really enjoyed the children’s play area. The campsite is in a good location, about a 15-minute walk into town, where we had tapas at a bar. Nights were quiet and cool. The shop has the basics but not much produce, and there’s fresh bread in the morning. The shopkeeper was lovely and very friendly. We stopped for a night on the way to France. At €68 for two adults, our 3-year-old and a truck, it was the most expensive camping stay we’ve had in Europe. The gravel pitch was okay, though not our favourite. We were close to reception, near some kind of animal cage, and the roosters and peacocks started making noise at 4-5am, waking us all up. The showers didn’t feel very clean. It was dark inside, and most cubicle floors had hair on them. The flies, especially around the pool, were absolutely unbearable.

My daughter liked the daily craft club, but I didn’t see activities for babies, even though they’re advertised. I didn’t see any donkeys, the peacocks are caged, and the morning yoga didn’t happen. The campsite is pretty, but it felt far too packed. There was a large group of teenagers camping opposite who were allowed to use these facilities, so the pool, restaurant, shop and basketball court were all overloaded, with some inconsiderate behavior too. I think the online marketing is very effective, but the reality didn’t quite match it, so we were a bit disappointed. The sanitary block is tired and had a faint sewage smell, and it could be cleaned more thoroughly. As far as I could tell, there was only one washing machine for the whole campsite. There’s no grey water disposal, either. We were told to drive to Figueres.

The pitches were decent for tents, and there’s a handy little shop. I stopped here while doing the GR11. It was a bit expensive, and leaving my powerbank charging in the bathroom ended with it being stolen, which was a pain.

We stayed in a bungalow for 5, and it was spotlessly clean and a really pleasant place for us. The night sky was amazing, with all the stars clearly visible. There’s plenty for children to do, including an on-site park, tennis and basketball courts, and a large, very clean swimming pool. Bassegoda park camping is incredible: clean, quiet and surrounded by nature. We had a fantastic meal at the on-site restaurant. The set menu was €23 for adults and €11 for children. Everything we tried was homemade and super tasty, with generous portions. Service was warm, friendly and efficient. They’ve done a great job here. Highly recommend it for all those reasons.
