Can Carreras

My single room came with a lovely terrace where I could watch the sunrise. It wasn’t very big, and the bathroom was shared, but I can live with that. We were four bikers staying just one night, and all of us wished we could’ve spent a couple more days enjoying the place and the area. There were different room types, from singles to doubles. Breakfast was great and good value. I’d stay again if I pass through.

The room was very pleasant, and we loved relaxing by the pool. Breakfasts were superb too. We spent two nights at Can Carreras and had such a wonderful stay that I wanted to thank the owner. Highly recommend it. Thanks again, see you very soon! Patrice and Christine.

The beds were incredibly uncomfortable, and the frames wobbled so much they felt ready to break. We also booked expecting a whole rural house to ourselves because Booking.com described it as an entire place. Instead, it was a room in an occupied house, roughly converted with a bathroom and kitchen. But the biggest problems were the dirt and bugs everywhere. We found them in the towels, across the walls and floors, and even inside the toaster, so we couldn’t use it. The owners knew about the infestation. When we raised it, they said they were aware and handed us a vacuum cleaner to pick the bugs up ourselves. I think if you know a place is in this condition, you should fix it before having guests. We’re leaving angry, mostly because of this. There were other issues, but those were the main ones. EDIT: I’ve added photos of the bugs. The owners were rude in their response, saying we left the apartment dirty even though we left it spotless. They also denied the infestation they’d acknowledged in person and made us feel crazy for being from the city. We’ve stayed in countless rural places, and this is unacceptable. I hope the health department inspects the place someday.

The owner was friendly, and there were outdoor activities to enjoy. This is a charming rural house by the river, surrounded by nature and incredible views. The terrace is cozy, and it has all the amenities for a relaxing stay. We’ll be back!
