Palacio de Barreiro

After 22 years away, we came back and found the manor house just as lovingly cared for as we remembered. Its history is everywhere, and it’s been beautifully preserved. The rooms, grounds, and breakfast were all wonderful. Reina, Mauricio, and Antonio made us feel so welcome, and the whole family’s care for this special place really shows. It’s wonderfully peaceful, too.

The breakfast was generous, full of quality food, and really good. We also loved how quiet it was, especially sitting by the pool and looking out over the vineyards. The rooms are simple, but the beds are comfortable, and the place is very pleasant and relaxing to stay in.

Antonio, the owner, took the time to show us around and share the Palace’s history, which made the stay feel especially personal. The service was warm and attentive to all the little details. We’ve come back two years running, and both times we had the pool to ourselves. The architecture is beautiful, and the peaceful natural setting makes the Palace feel magical and authentic. We’re already sure we’ll return.

We felt right at home thanks to Antonio and his family, the owners, who were so friendly and thoughtful about every detail. The manor house is surrounded by fruit trees and vineyards, with lovely views, and the whole place has a real sense of peace. We’d gladly come back, and definitely recommend it.
