Cal Ganso Encantat

Breakfast was a 10, and the welcome was really friendly. We spent two nights here and loved our stay. It’s a themed village house inspired by an enchanted forest, with restored furniture and lovely handmade things like soaps and jams that you can buy. The room was on the small side, but clean, well equipped, and decorated with care down to the tiniest detail. A hidden gem for a special stay.

The location works really well, with Tarragona, the beach, the mountains and Barcelona all within reach. We found the house beautifully decorated like a magical place in nature, and relaxing music and aromatherapy helped ease the stress as soon as we arrived. Ramon is especially empathetic, and the whole team is so attentive that you can tell they want you to feel good. The Wi-Fi worked well at every hour. I’d give it seven stars if I could. A great place to get away and switch off.

The owners were so kind and welcoming, and the food was mostly sourced from nearby, with much of it made in the village or neighboring towns. Breakfast brought a different dish each day, prepared fresh with natural ingredients. The views over the woods or surrounding mountains are lovely, and the terrace is a great place to watch the sunset with a craft beer. A stone-carved tree shelters it from the sun. Inside, the rooms are amazing. There’s a bird’s nest hanging from a stone-carved tree as you enter, above a bed piled with animal-print pillows. The bathroom is small, but cozy and just right for two. The whole rural hotel feels spectacular, like a rustic hobbit house, with nothing out of place and Celtic music playing softly in the background. I’d only make it better by putting it in a forest with a good view. I highly recommend spending a few days here to unwind in the peaceful surroundings.

Ramón and Lidia made us feel so welcome, and the cottage itself is beautiful. The breakfast was spectacular, with fruit, cold cuts, toast, pastries, juice, good coffee, milk, herbal teas and even homemade coca. That’s a lot more than the bare minimum many cottages offer. Our room was warm and comfortable, with lovely decor and an amazing carved wooden bed. We’d happily recommend it and will definitely come back!
