Apartamentos Paraje San Blas

The garden gives the complex a lot of charm, and the shower’s gentle jets were lovely. The owners were a real highlight too, attentive and friendly, and even booked us a table at their restaurant. The food there was fantastic, great value, and well worth recommending. We’d stayed a couple of years earlier, and the apartments seemed to have worn badly since then. Some kitchen cupboard handles were broken and there were grease marks. The mattress was awful, one of those uncomfortable spring ones. The sheets were clean, but so wrinkled and unironed that when we made the bed they looked as if someone had slept in them and they hadn’t been changed.

The manager was very friendly, and parking was included. We paid 50 euros for one night for two people in an apartment with two floors, two fully equipped bedrooms, TVs and air conditioning in both, plus a kitchen, living room with a fireplace, and more. One bedroom terrace connects by a suspension bridge to a viewpoint built in a tree. The setting inside the gate is peaceful, with gardens, a small indoor pool, and animals wandering freely, including a peacock. Outside, the location isn’t much to look at: it’s in an industrial park on the outskirts, opposite a car wash. The castle is about a 20-minute walk away, while San Blas cliff is only five minutes on foot, with cave paintings and great views over the Extremadura countryside.

The hosts were so friendly and attentive, and the apartments had all the amenities we needed, along with a shared pool and jacuzzi. It’s a great place for families with kids, with peacocks, chickens, and other animals around. We had a perfect stay and would love to come back!

Pepi and Miguel Ángel made us feel very welcome, and the apartments had everything we needed, from a kitchen and microwave to air conditioning, heating, a sauna, sofas, and a dining table. The bedrooms were comfortable, and there was a shared outdoor terrace. Breakfast was included, with plenty of parking available. It’s a peaceful, beautiful place among the trees, with a lovely garden pool and an outdoor jacuzzi for cooling off in summer. The area works well for excursions. I’d happily recommend staying here again.
