A lovely place to unwind away from the crowds, and a good base for driving trips. The apartment is in a gated community beside a pebble beach, with sandy beaches in nearby Alcossebre. There's parking at the apartment. It was very comfortable, almost luxurious, with a large living room and kitchen, two bedrooms, a bathroom with a tub and bidet, and two balconies. The kitchen had basic utensils. We missed having big coffee mugs and a kettle. There was a Nescafé Dolce Gusto machine, but you'll need to bring capsules and bottled water. No shop is nearby, and the tap water smells strongly of chlorine. Shops and restaurants are in Alcossebre, about 5 km away. There are also two restaurants about 1 km away, to the right of the gate and opposite Alcossebre. Both were open before the season, though their menus were more limited than in high season. You have to pick up and return the keys at the office in Alcossebre, but check-in was quick and easy. The staff were very friendly and spoke English. It was a nice surprise not to be charged a security deposit. When we visited in late April or early May, it was blackbird mating season. The males sang beautifully and did courtship dances on the roof of a building we could see from our balcony.

For a good time in Alcossebre, here's the route: paella at the Chepi, a swim in the lighthouse cove, sunset at the hermitage of Santa Lucia, then down to the port until you can't hold on anymore. Alee joy and glory!

I liked how peaceful the location was. What I didn't like was that the bathrooms had no towels, not even hand towels. We also had to make up our own beds when we arrived, and the refrigerator was unplugged. Since it was summer, our food went bad.

A peaceful place for a few days of proper relaxation. The apartments are quite nice.
