Castell de la Solana

We had such a relaxing stay thanks to the warm, welcoming hosts and hearty, delicious breakfasts. The spa was incredible for recovering after rides, and there’s secure bike and gear storage along with every tool you might need. It’s an ideal base for a Calpe cycling holiday, with a great road network to explore and the legendary Coll de Rates just a short ride away. A calm place to unwind too. I'm already planning another visit!

A lovely little hotel with cozy shared spaces and comfortable rooms. The hosts are kind, pleasant, and happy to do extra to help. Since there’s no restaurant, you have to drive into the village to eat. I only wished there had been some cheese and ham to have with an evening glass of wine. After a long day, wine and cheese would sometimes have been enough.

The rooms were peaceful and the beds so comfortable that we left feeling completely recharged. Hannu and Nanna are amazing hosts who make you feel at home, and we'd love to return. The views across the valley are stunning, and the lush gardens give the house a special, welcoming feel. It's a lovely place to slow down. For something more active, there’s hiking, cycling and nearby towns to explore, or you can relax by the pool or visit the spa with its Turkish and Finnish saunas. We also went to two social dining evenings with a private chef, a lovely idea that made the stay even more memorable.

The private spa was a real treat in a boutique hotel, and the place has plenty of space to enjoy some privacy while still feeling at home. The hotel is thoughtfully equipped, and both its location and hospitality are excellent. They’ve really created the feeling of an escape. A wonderful stay.
