Pensión El Carmen

The cash-only payment felt odd when credit cards are accepted everywhere these days. The room smelled unpleasant when I walked in, maybe because it hadn't been aired out or possibly because it was damp. There was no heating in the single room, and the bathroom had no towels, toilet paper, or soap. I'm small, so I could just about fit in the shower. The price was the same as a much better hostal 200m up the road, which felt too high for this level of service.

Spotlessly clean, in a great location. Excellent place.

It was quiet, so we slept well. The sheets were clean, and there were towels and shower gel. We only needed somewhere for one night, and the room was fine. It met my expectations, and for me, that's what mattered.

The location worked really well, with lots of shops nearby as well as a metro station and bus stop. The people were super friendly, and the bed, sheets, and towels were clean. It's an old house, so hearing things is pretty normal. For the price, and since I mainly needed a place to sleep, it was very good. Don't expect luxury. If you want more, get a hotel and pay a little extra for what you're looking for.
