Hort de la Cinteta

The house is okay, but it's missing the little things that would make it a good rural guesthouse. The swing is nearly broken, the power kept tripping, and the refrigerators didn't cool properly. Also, someone who shouldn't have been allowed in got into the house. The place itself is fine, but it leaves a lot to be desired.

The region is beautiful, and being with friends meant we could overlook a lot, so the stay wasn't a nightmare. Still, for the price, we expected better. The house and garden could both be lovely with some modernization and upkeep. The oven and fridge broke when we arrived, though they were replaced very quickly. We had to ask for chlorine tablets to keep the pool clean and clear. Hot showers were hard to come by even though we stayed within the house's capacity. There was no inventory check, either. The contact person couldn't speak French or English, despite the Abritel website clearly saying otherwise. At checkout, we gave the keys to the friendly cleaning lady, who seemed used to complaints from unhappy guests. We'll come back to the region, but definitely not this house.

We were really comfortable during our weekend stay. The beds were comfortable, everything was clean, and there was Wi-Fi, appliances, and two barbecues. It had everything we wanted in a rural house, plus a very welcoming feel.

It was a very nice place, but the cleanliness could have been much better. They say there's a swing set, and finding it broken was a huge letdown for a 3-year-old.
