Sol de Alcudia Apartamentos

We stayed for 10 days, and the staff were incredibly kind, helpful and always smiling. Breakfast and dinner were very good, and the overall atmosphere was pleasant. The room was pretty and clean, and the evening baby disco is sure to be a hit with kids at this family hotel. For us, though, it was a bit too loud. The bedrooms aren’t well soundproofed, so we could hear doors, hallway noise and even karaoke from nearby hotels. The balcony light was also disturbing, as the curtains let in a lot of light. We’d still recommend the hotel.

The reception ladies and cleaners deserve a big shout out, their service was amazing. We arrived early afternoon on the 15th and were greeted at reception, but our room wasn’t ready until 2:30pm. We were given room 120, a Select Double Room on floor level 1. We stayed for five days and four nights, room only. The room was excellent, with a shower rather than a bath, which suited us, and the Wi-Fi was excellent throughout the room and hotel. There’s a free gym on the first level, and the pool is a good size with an outdoor bar. The hotel across from us had loud entertainment, but it wasn’t too bad to listen to. We’re both adults with no children. The beach is about a 10-minute walk, depending on your pace. I gave four stars because we didn’t use the pool or entertainment.

There’s a lot to like at Sol de Alcudia Apartamentos. The rooms are spacious, large and well equipped, the food was excellent, varied and tasty, and staff at reception and dinner were professional and friendly. The location is quiet but convenient, around a 7-8 minute walk from the beach. Housekeeping was the biggest disappointment. Rooms aren’t cleaned on Sundays and Wednesdays, which is fine, but on cleaning days they only took out the trash. The floors stayed dusty and dirty, and even the table wasn’t wiped. The towel rental policy also felt overpriced and unnecessary: it costs €10, with only €5 refunded when you return the towel. At professional hotels, towels are usually free with a deposit. The hotel is very good overall, but housekeeping needs a lot of improvement, and towels should be free with a refundable deposit. With those changes, the stay would be excellent.

The apartments were clean and lovely, and the hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. The beach is about a 10-minute walk away. Lidl is 15 minutes away if you need groceries. The other nearby food shops are very expensive and rip tourists off.
