Condesa Hotel

The new rooftop sky bar is classy, with superb 360 degree views, and everything was spotless, even the toilets. This was our third visit, after trips 28 years ago and 11 years ago, when it was called the Condesa de la Bahia. We thought those stays were excellent, but last week was even better. There’s an amazing range of food, plus a poolside snack bar with burgers, wraps, and cheesy tortillas when it’s too nice to eat inside. Our room had everything we needed, including a kettle and fridge, and the shower was powerful. The staff couldn’t do enough for us. The Condesa feels like 5 star quality at a 4 star price. Superb throughout, and thanks for a fab hols!

The one real letdown was the snack bar. I think burgers and sausages should be cooked on a hot plate instead of being precooked, warmed for a minute in a machine, and served. My husband was sick and had diarrhoea after one of the burgers. Otherwise, the reception team were extremely helpful, the restaurant staff efficient, and the rooms cleaned every day. Staff were excellent, pleasant, and always helpful. I’m a fussy eater but found something to eat, though the children’s menu should have been different from the adults’ because I know my kids wouldn’t eat what I did. The hotel is right by the beach, where two sunbeds now cost 18.20 euros. Our first-floor room, 198, was a long walk, but the sea and pool views made it worthwhile. There aren’t many bars nearby, though a few supermarkets are close. The port is about 4km away. We took the bus there and walked back.

The room change made a big difference to my comfort, though there was still an unpleasant bathroom smell that seemed to come from the drains or plumbing. I had mixed feelings about Hotel Condesa after my 10-day All Inclusive Plus stay outside peak season. I’d requested a quiet room, but at first I was put beside the service area, where garbage collection and staff moving equipment made a lot of noise at night and early in the morning. The bathroom door wouldn’t close properly. I asked to move right away and was told they would try to fix it first, but nobody came. After I spoke to reception again, they eventually moved me to a much quieter room. The woman at reception seemed unfriendly when I checked in. The hotel is by the sea, with direct beach access, but beach sunbeds cost extra. You can take drinks from the bar to the beach, and the outdoor shower with warm water is handy and pleasant after coming back. It has a family atmosphere with lots of children, though that didn’t bother me since the hotel wasn’t full. The food was standard for a European hotel, with a reasonable choice but nothing special. Housekeeping came daily, towels were changed every day, and the bed linen was changed once during my 10-day stay. The room safe costs extra. Pool towels are issued with cards from reception, and a replacement costs €1 per person. For early departures, they offer a light breakfast of coffee, sandwiches, and biscuits. The staff were friendly overall, especially at the Nikita bar, where the welcoming team created a nice atmosphere. Room location had a big effect on how comfortable the stay felt.

The beach location was good and some staff were friendly, but I had a poor stay at this mass tourism hotel for a few nights in May 2026. The rooms and facilities felt outdated, and I wouldn’t call it a 4 stars hotel, at most a 3 stars one. Our room was small, with dated decor, a tiny TV, no tea or coffee facilities, and a similarly tired bathroom. The mattress was too soft to sleep comfortably, and the heating wasn’t working. We could hear far too much through the walls and had to wear earplugs. The room safe also cost extra, which I’d never been asked to pay for before. The beachfront facilities aren’t part of the hotel and cost extra as well. Food quality was mid to poor, and breakfast and dinner became repetitive after the second day. The huge restaurant got extremely crowded at breakfast even in mid-season, making it hard to find a seat. I can only imagine how it gets in high season. Our friends had a second room with a sewage smell in the bathroom, and nobody responded despite several complaints. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.
