Morer Vermell

We came on a Sunday in September, with tourists still filling the island, and were so glad to find this calm beach. There was plenty of room and hardly anyone around. Parking on the street was easy to find. It's next to two hotels, but the visitors seemed older, which suited us because we wanted somewhere quiet and peaceful.

There's no amenities, which helps keep this clean beach from getting crowded, and I prefer it that way. It's great for a swim or a bit of snorkeling.

When conditions are right, it's a nice, relatively quiet beach. It can collect a lot of seaweed over winter, and the authorities may be slow and not very thorough about clearing it for summer, though they do get it done eventually. The smell usually comes from poor drains near the hotels. Farther away, it's generally fine.

It's a clean, peaceful local beach with a sandy seabed, and it wasn't crowded. In July 2021, the only hotel guests around were from Hotel More and Hotel Panoramic Alcudia. Since those hotels have swimming pools, their guests seemed to come down to the beach just for a swim. I also saw a few local residents. The sea was exceptionally warm that July. There are no lifeguards, toilets, or showers. The sea sometimes brings seagrass onto the shore, but it wasn't a problem. A little farther out, seagrass on the bottom can make water shoes more comfortable.
