Casa Colonial en Alevia

Tamara took great care of us, even helping with our motorbikes and finding a place to dry our laundry. We spent two fantastic days at this peaceful hotel, and the service and attention were wonderful.

We found this charming little countryside hotel while driving back from Picos de Europa. The room was spacious and cosy, with a rustic renovation and modern three-star facilities, in a restored 15th-century house in the small village of Alevia in the Asturian mountains. We usually travel around Europe by car without booking ahead. We carry Michelin's restaurant and hotel guide for each country and tend to call somewhere early in the day while we're still on the road. The welcome here was warm and helpful, though the staff had trouble understanding English when we visited. That made it hard to get clear information and book by phone. There was also a downside at checkout: the amount charged differed from the price we had been given when checking in.

The old village of Alevia is small and lovely, surrounded by nature, with incredible views over the Deva valley and nearby towns such as Panes and Siejo. The place itself is beautiful too, with cosy rooms and friendly staff.

Gregorio, the owner, was super friendly and helpful. A great place to stay in Alevia, and the breakfast was fantastic.
