Finca Son Amora Vell

This is a beautiful old country house, but it needs essential renovations, as the systems are badly below standard. The rooms were very dirty, and every mattress was stained and unhygienic, to the point that they were unusable and not fit to present to guests. The downstairs bedrooms were unlivable because of the musty smell and dust falling from the walls. Of the five advertised bathrooms, only two were in acceptable condition, and even those were extremely dirty. The kitchen was dirty too, and all the utensils needed washing and sanitizing. The dishwasher was unusable unless you wanted to make a mess instead of clean dishes. The old pipes meant the water didn't flow properly. The photos on the booking sites were unrealistic: the furnishings looked at least 15 years old, were dilapidated, and many pieces were flimsy and easy to dismantle. When we booked, the villa had a different name and the location was also wrong. This felt dishonest and misleading, as if guests were being scammed. The host was absent at both check-in and check-out. One star feels far too low for this so-called villa.

There were 15 of us, and this property didn't meet even the basic sanitary standards for a rental. It was filthy, and there was no peace at night with planes overhead and dogs barking nonstop. The place also felt completely unsafe, with people repeatedly coming in without warning. The kitchen was badly equipped and very dirty, and the property manager wasn't trustworthy. I'm sharing photos of how the dogs live in this house so people can think twice before renting it. Our whole holiday was hell. We don't recommend this place to anyone.

The property itself was good, but the stay was awful. We had no hot water for three days. The main boiler was broken and disconnected, and the gas installation had no flue vent, leaving a risk of suffocation. The property manager did nothing.

There was no peace or sleep during our horrible week here. Dogs in a nearby kennel barked through the night, and the clay pigeon range began each morning with two shots every couple of minutes. Planes also passed overhead about every three minutes, since the house sits right under the flight path to Palma. On top of that, the house is very rustic and the furnishings felt unsanitary. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet stay.
