Balneario Alhama de Granada

The place sits among lots of trees beside a small river, which we really liked. The building is old rather than modern, but it's fine. The outdoor pool is about 100 meters from the Hotel, and there's a cafetería there. Its water is above 30°C, warm, and seemed to have no chlorine. There's also a public pool just outside the Hotel, mostly used by locals. We'd visit again.

The staff were nice, but the place needs an upgrade and a cozier feel. Those icy white lights should go. There's a lot of potential here, though the design and overall look need much more professional attention. Even though the water is thermal, it smells more of chlorine.

We only went to the natural pool outside the spa, so I can't judge the spa itself, though I trust it may be wonderful. The thermal pool outside is easy to recommend at any time. Just be ready for lots of fluffy bits from the trees tickling you.

We came by car through the beautiful Granada hills to see the thermal springs, and the place was amazing. It took us a while to work out where the springs were and whether there was a fee, but apparently the springs outside were free, so we went for a soak. The hotel looked lovely, and I'd like to stay there sometime. We took a star off because it wasn't clear how everything worked, and there was no locker room, so we had to change in the car. Still, it's absolutely worth visiting.
