Don Martín Rural & Spa

The house was clean and nice, and aside from a few issues, it was fine. The lighting in the rooms was very dim, and there was almost no toilet paper. We also had trouble with the spa. We booked through the rural club, where no extra jacuzzi charge was mentioned. When we arrived, they said it would cost 90 euros for three hours. After a long discussion, we finally reached an agreement. The jacuzzi water was dirty too.

There were eight of us and we were very comfortable. The house had everything we needed and was really clean. The owner even offered to let us stay a little longer in the jacuzzi area. One heads-up if you’re coming from out of town: the local water tastes terrible and very strange. That’s not an issue with the house itself, and an acquaintance had warned us. The firewood was the one downside. The owner left very little, even though we only used it for cooking on the barbecue, and he didn’t seem happy when we asked for more. He did bring us a little extra, but there isn’t enough to enjoy the fantastic living room fireplace. If you want to use it, bring your own wood. They should make clear how much firewood is provided or let guests know in advance.

The house was lovely and had everything we needed for the October holiday weekend. The one thing I’d change is the firewood. If you plan to cook meat on the grill or use the stove, bring your own. They don’t supply much, and when we asked for more, they seemed annoyed. They said they’d bring some, but it never showed up :(

Francisco was welcoming and attentive, and the beds were really comfortable. We spent five days here and would happily recommend it. The house is very cozy and has almost everything, though it could use a few more kitchen utensils. Otherwise, it was perfect. Congratulations, this is how travel should be.
