We were charged €50 extra for our 9-year-old, even though there was no extra bed and we all slept in the same bed. The room was still the same one we’d booked, and the added cost actually made the stay feel less comfortable for what we paid. We’d reserved a room with a large bed and had clearly said we’d be bringing our child. The price was €190 without breakfast, but at check-in the administrator said that rate covered two adults only, so we paid €240. I might have understood the charge if breakfast had been included, but it wasn’t. After years of travelling, this is the first time I’ve written a hotel review like this. I came away with an extremely negative impression, and the room simply wasn’t worth that much to me.

The poolside cafe and bar was a good spot for an afternoon drink, and the service there was great. Once it closed, though, there was nowhere to sit and relax with a drink. We had to wait for the restaurant to open, and there wasn’t a drinks or wine menu, which was disappointing. The spa area could really use some care. It’s a nice hotel for the price, and the two women at reception were helpful and pleasant. The safe in our room wasn’t working, and we were told nobody could look at it until after 19:00.

The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and elegant, and we loved watching the sunset from our balcony. The setting among the olive groves was peaceful and beautiful, and the service was warm and attentive throughout. The kitchen was superb, especially breakfast, which was the best quality we’ve ever had. They’re welcoming to both children and pets. Even though the business had only been open for about five months, the people running it clearly understand the industry and what they’re doing. We had an unbelievable stay and will be back soon. It deserves six stars. Next time, we’ll leave extra time to enjoy the spa.

The bar food was overpriced and mediocre. My steak was badly overcooked, and the hamburger was rubbery, with supermarket frozen fries, for €18. The staff also seemed inflexible. It was impossible to get a coffee at 9h00, and they need to remember this is hospitality. The countryside location is lovely, though it’s far from everywhere. The rooms are nice, with great views and a terrace in the superior room.

We’ve stayed here four times while travelling to and from Spain. It’s a lovely, quiet hotel, with large rooms and friendly staff.
