Hostal Rte. Casa Miguel

At €35 per night, I felt this was really good value, especially with a cooked breakfast, fresh orange juice and proper coffee included. I arrived by motorcycle from Ireland on my way to Gran Canaria and stayed two nights. They gave me a room looking out over the parking space for my bike, and treated me with real respect. The whole building, including the room, was spotless, and the staff were very friendly. It’s only about a five-minute walk to the beach and the busy area, but the place itself stays peaceful. The local police station is right next door.

The walk to the beach through the dune park, starting just behind the hostal, was an absolute delight. There are several good places to eat nearby, including Casa Miguel’s own restaurant. Breakfast was tasty and generous, and the evening service was a pleasure. I wanted a comfortable base for exploring Donana, and Casa Miguel worked well for that. The room was simple, clean and comfortable. Next time, though, I’d ask for one on the side away from the courtyard so it’s quieter during siesta. Good value for the money, and I’d recommend it.

I’ll definitely stay here again. It’s clean, the service is excellent and friendly, and you can get to the beach and resort bars in under five minutes on foot. A great spot for a peaceful night’s sleep.

The restaurant food was just delicious. Really good!
