Apal Chinasol

I had to extend my stay after an accident left me unable to drive, so I ended up in two different studios. Both were clean, well equipped, and had comfortable beds, decent linens, and reliable Wi-Fi. The terraces were a good size and the sea views were excellent. The reception team were wonderful with my two rescue dogs. One is frightened of men, but all three male receptionists made an effort with her and, after a few days, she was delighted to see them. The two women on staff were kind, friendly, and helpful as well.

We paid a good rate, 63 EUR a night for two in February 2025, so the place was acceptable for the price, but we wouldn't come back. The apartments feel old and dusty, with battered, mismatched furniture, and some spots could use a proper deep clean. Outside the season, free parking may be available on nearby Av. Amelia Sánchez de Alcázar.

The pool is well looked after, and the building has its own restaurant with good food. Shops, cafes, restaurants, and a large supermarket are close by, while the town centre is an easy walk. It's a peaceful spot right beside the sea. Our room was clean and spacious, with a small kitchen and a lovely view. The staff were very nice, especially Mayra the Head Receptionist and the other receptionist, whose name I can't remember. They were always ready to help. Good value, and we're planning to stay again.

We came for a weekend in Chinasol and had a great time. It was easy to unwind in Almunecar, even though we'd thought about taking a day trip to nearby Granada. There's a lot to see and do for a small town. The hotel is right across from a long, lovely beach, with plenty of restaurants and shops close at hand. We also loved the hotel restaurant: the food was amazing for the price, and breakfast had a good selection at very reasonable prices. Our apartment was spotless and nicely decorated, with excellent mattresses and pillows. The staff were friendly, spoke English, and shared lots of ideas for places to visit. 10 out of 10, we'd definitely come back.
