The owners were friendly and welcoming, and the hotel was very nice and clean. The location near the beach is great. The rooms are nice, though a couple of things like drinking glasses might be useful. Thanks :)

The owners were really nice and helped us with our questions, as well as recommending good places to visit. The location is great, just 50 m from the beach and close to the center of Almuñecar. It’s a cosy hostal for a few days by the beach, with clean rooms decorated in different colors. My room had a little fridge and table, a chest of drawers and a shoe rack. There was no closet, but there were hangers for clothes. It’s simple, but covers what you need, especially if you spend the day at the beach or in the bars and restaurants on the promenade and only come back to sleep. The bed was very comfortable.

The beach is nearby, and the location is nice, but plenty of other hotels offer that too. I’d rather pay a little more in Almunecar than feel like an unwelcome student in a dorm. I’d booked two nights for four people for a future trip, then cancelled after trying this place on my own. My room was tiny and smelled really musty. It was clean, which is the minimum plenty of cheap seaside hostels manage, but basic Ikea furniture didn’t make it feel like a good hotel. Older furniture would’ve been fine if it was quiet and didn’t smell. I wouldn’t stay again. There’s nowhere nearby to park easily, no bar for tea or coffee, and reception isn’t staffed at set times during the day. You have to text ten minutes before arriving to check in, which is impossible if you’re driving. The walls are paper thin. Over two nights, I heard people moving around, having sex, and doing ordinary things that shouldn’t have been so loud in my room at night. I got about four hours of sleep each night. There are lots of rules, and even when you follow them, you can still get told off. It felt more like a school dorm than a cheap hotel. On my last night, I had takeaway food. I tied the leftovers tightly in a plastic bag and put them in the bin. By morning there were ants, and at checkout I was blamed for them. They checked my room and told me off as if it were my job to keep the hotel insect-free. The long list of things not to do that I’d read carefully didn’t say no food in the room.
