Hotel Roc Blanc

The pool was green, and there was a DEAD RAT in it. After that, my friends and I gave up on the pool and went back to our rooms for the night. Dinner was served from 7:30-9:00. The buffet looked good but tasted gross, like it had all been microwaved. The gummies were the only good thing. Breakfast the next morning was the worst ever, just store-bought muffins, toast, and cereal, with super watered-down coffee that looked like dirt had been put in it. We left that morning not wanting to come back. Inside, the place was so dark, and the endless animal heads and plastering over the stained-glass windows gave it a horror-film feel, even though the outside looked beautiful. Our group arrived exhausted after a long hike, and only one person seemed to be working. Maybe he was the manager, but he wasn’t helpful at all. In our room there were two twin beds and a roll-out bed. The bedspreads were so dusty that it seemed like they hadn’t been washed in years. The toilet already had urine in it and smelled awful, and there was black mold on the ceiling. As someone allergic to mold, I found that terrifying. Those two stars were way too generous. Gordon Ramsey and the Hotel Nightmares crew, please help make this place better!

There’s no WiFi, the elevator and TV were broken, and the electrical system was broken too. There were no heat controls, and the towels, doors, walls, and chairs all seemed ancient or broken. On the plus side, the staff were nice, there was a pool table and board games, and the bar poured generous glasses of wine. With a renovation, this could be a nice hotel.

Spectacular

The rooms were fine, and we knew they were being renovated. Everything was very clean, and both heating and hot water worked perfectly. Breakfast was good, the service was fantastic, and we had absolutely no problems. We’ll definitely return.
