Tossal d'Altea

We spent a week here in summer. It was clean and peaceful, with a short walk to the old town and parking on site. Beautiful hotel, lovely staff, and delicious food. I’d definitely recommend it.

Rustic and comfortable, a lovely place. Getting there on foot is tricky, especially after dark because the tracks aren’t lit. And they need a better toaster!

Our stay at Tossal daltea was a very pleasant experience, thanks in large part to the staff. VICENTA, the lovely and helpful waitress, always made sure we got the attention we needed as guests. VICENTE was a professional waiter and offered several options for my wife, who is vegetarian and gluten-free. DANI at reception was helpful and took care of our needs. I also want to mention VICENTA, the receptionist and daughter of VICENTA senior. They’re both delightful and very alike. AMU, the Nepalese waitress, was kind and helpful too. We did have a few suggestions. Our SATNAV didn’t find the address properly because number 96 wasn’t correct, and we missed the narrow entrance from the main road twice. DANI talked me through it on the phone until I found the way, during the daytime. The roughly 200-metre dirt track from the main road could be improved, perhaps with gravel if asphalt isn’t possible. We chose not to go out at night and ate at the lovely hotel restaurant instead. The road is completely dark after sunset, which makes walking difficult, so some lighting would help. Our spacious room was nice, but dim, mainly because of the low-voltage bulbs. Even with those issues, the experience was positive.

We thoroughly enjoyed our two-night stay. The evening meal was delicious, and the hotel was extremely clean and well maintained. Everyone was friendly and engaging, especially the dining room staff, who happily put up with our Spanish and helped us improve our limited skills. Thanks to all the employees who made us comfortable.
