We picked Mas de Chapa for a few days over Easter with friends, partly because of its good reviews and pet-friendly policy. We brought two Chihuahuas. The house rules listed a €3 per day pet fee, but when we checked before arrival, we were told it was €10 a day, or €20 for our three-night stay. Gemma has since updated Airbnb with the information we hadn't known about. Gemma offered us an early check-in, two hours ahead of time, but there were problems from the start: the Wi-Fi didn't work, there were only two lounge chairs, and some others were dirty and broken. The old refrigerator smelled bad, the house itself smelled unpleasant, towels were wet, and dishes were dirty. We hadn't yet sent the €30 Bizum payment for fees and the pet supplement, so we decided to wait until we had our pet back before paying. They took the modem and brought it back the next afternoon. Gemma asked us to pay again, this time €38, which surprised us because the amount didn't add up. Her attitude was deplorable. She said we were begging for €10 and threatened to call the police if we didn't pay. To avoid more trouble, we charged her €30. We got the modem back that afternoon, but it stopped working again a few hours later. We messaged Gemma, and she refused to take responsibility. They came for the modem again in the morning. At midday, while we were cooking, the kitchen extractor fell onto the stove. We sent Gemma a photo, but she called the situation crazy, blamed us, and told us not to question the charges for the fees and pets, which were now €36, even though she said she'd given us a discount.
