We were there for 45 minutes, so it wasn’t as if we’d lingered unusually long. Still, the waiter brought the check while we were drinking our wine, then came back and glared when we left it on the table to finish. He turned away and said in perfect English that they needed the table. The meal itself was reasonably tasty, but the service made the visit really unpleasant. He said he didn’t speak English, which was fine, but instead of showing us the menu he rapidly repeated the options in Spanish and got very impatient. Our food came quickly, and he tried to clear our plates before we’d finished.

After our hike we stopped in for a cold beer. Two nice beers cost six euros, and we had another two with tapas for just eighty cents extra. Lovely.

The rooms are a bit dated, though clean and perfectly usable. It’s in a great spot, with a good traditional restaurant and bar area.

I came for the restaurant, so this is just about the food. The salad with pepper and tuna was my favorite, and I’d happily eat it every day. The meatballs came with chips as a tapa, and the portion was generous for the price. I also liked the light chocolate mousse and tried the soup of the day, with egg, chicken and ham. There’s a traditional feel to the little place. The waiter and waitress were friendly, though they speak little English. I did my best with my limited Spanish, and we managed to understand each other. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The menu of the day is substantial, enough to keep you going all day, and the à la carte half portion I ordered on my second visit was more than enough. A full one would probably feed two. I liked it enough to come back, and couldn’t fault the food.

Right in the town center, and the food is tasty without being fancy. The quality for the price is great, though most dishes are fried. Service is good and quick if you order drinks by the bar. Friday suppers often get busy, but you can stand near the bar and still be served fast.
