Hotel Coso Viejo

We were there almost a week. The staff were friendly enough and the stay was fine, though the room was on the small side. Fresh towels and sheets would have made it better. We never asked, since each day we thought they might be replaced.

We chose a room with a balcony, which was lovely in the evenings. The hotel is in an old Palacio, with small rooms and a great bathroom. It’s a no frills place in a handy location for walking around town, and there was parking for E10.

I couldn’t sleep because noise came through from everywhere. Closing the windows didn’t block the road, dogs or people talking, and sounds from the neighboring rooms, including running water and conversations, were just as easy to hear. The rustic hotel is clean and well maintained, and sits in the center of beautiful Antequera, but the noise made it a 2* stay for me.

On a sunny day, the shared ground floor area is a nice place to sit. In rainy weather it feels too cold to stay there, so you’re almost pushed back into your room. The rooms are decent and the bathroom is very good and up to date. The hotel is right in the center, which is great, but getting there by car can be awkward, especially when the little plaza out front is full. Staff were helpful, friendly and professional.
