We liked the restaurant downstairs, which serves all three meals and opens at 8 a.m. We managed an early breakfast there before driving about 25 minutes to El Torcal; going early is a good idea if you want to avoid parking trouble. The hotel itself was well placed for nearby sights, and our room was clean, roomy enough for two, and had a lovely balcony and a nice shower. Two nights here felt like good value for the price.

I was glad I finally found this place on my first stop for an Andalusian hiking trip. Antequera is a lovely town, though I'd visited before and somehow missed the hotel. My room was spacious and cozy, with a pretty balcony facing the main road and an impressive old palace. The location is right in the center, and dinner and breakfast at the restaurant downstairs were excellent. The service was, well, “pragmatic,” but the price was very good and I was happy there.

Antequera is a lovely little Andaluz town to wander around, with plenty to see and great countryside just past the castle. I only booked one night, but should have stayed longer. Getting there by train is easy, too. The room was small, though clean, comfortable, and everything worked. It was just 30Euro, while booking.com showed 52euro. Dinner was a great-value 3course meal, with charming, excellent service, for 12euro including a glass of wine.

The bar attached to the hotel serves excellent food, from tapas to a full meal, and the staff are all very friendly. The place is right in the city centre, with free parking about 10 minutes away. Good value overall. They provided a hairdryer, made the bed, and changed the towels every day. I'll definitely come back.
