Good, freshly cooked dishes at a very reasonable price. The typical Navarrian food was wonderful and delicious, right on the road between the Mediterranean and Cantabric coasts.

For €15.50 each, the roadside hotel’s simple menu included three courses, wine, bread, and water, with coffee extra. We started with a mixed salad and vegetable purée soup, then had an unusual puff pastry starter with cheese and spinach. The lamb’s liver with onions was very nice, and the fish-stuffed peppers also went down well. We all chose rice pudding for dessert, since it’s always a winner.

It feels like the middle of nowhere, but the place is a real gem. We were comfortable during our stay, with hot showers and a bath, a clean space, and super friendly staff. We also made use of the extra lounge for a few quiet drinks.

The bedroom window looked out over horses grazing against a stunning backdrop, a wonderful sight to wake up to. The remote location brings majestic views, and prices are reasonable since there isn’t much competition nearby. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious, and there was a good-sized desk. Getting decent hot food before 8pm can be difficult, which isn’t great if you want an early night and an early start. The old Spanish-style decor gives the hotel charm.
