The food feels rooted in Catalan cooking, and the steak or chicken comes out of the oven just right every time. It has that heavenly, grandma-made-it taste, with a good range of things to choose from. I’ve been here six or seven times after living in Catalonia for four years, and on a misty, rainy day this is the best restaurant I’ve found. The waiter has been the same guy every visit, always polite, patient, and welcoming. It’s in an old building, older than Australia, my country, and feels warm and inviting. I like sitting upstairs by the window. The place feels genuine, with a sense of what Catalan cooking and dining used to be, instead of charging more for less. Prices are very reasonable for the quality, especially compared with places that cost three times as much. You come in, order, and enjoy. Simple and perfect. If you’re nearby, go visit and sit upstairs. Download Catalan on your translator before heading up the mountain.

L'Hostalet serves excellent food in Arboli, one of the more tucked-away towns in Priorat. You can take in the scenery and enjoy the local cuisine here. Highly recommend.

We didn’t stay overnight, but what we saw of the hotel looked beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. We’d stopped for lunch on the way to the lake, and the food was great. The new owners, who took over this year, were really friendly and welcoming. I’d definitely recommend stopping in for a meal.

The white kidney beans are a real treat, you can tell they’re made with love. I wish I could eat here every day. The food was delicious, and the service was attentive. They even helped us plan what to see that evening.
