Albergue A Filla do Mar - Hostel

The bar was an odd experience. You get decent service as an ordinary customer, but as someone walking the Camino, I felt treated like a second-class citizen. I skipped dinner, so I can’t comment on it, but the included breakfast was just margarine, a piece of toast, a little jam, and orange juice. I went elsewhere for a proper breakfast and decent service. There’s only one men’s shower, so expect a long wait or go without. The ten-bed room was noisy all night when the big windows were open, with cars passing by. This is about the minimum a hostel can offer.

Having dinner and breakfast on site was part of why we liked this place. It may have been our favorite, since we didn’t need to go out for meals.

I didn’t stay here, so I can only speak to the food. The burger cost 6.5€ and was well worth it. The chicken sandwich was good too, and both portions were large. The coffee was delicious, and I liked their stamp.

The bar area was pleasant, but staying in the hostel was disappointing. Our bunk room had no windows, just a door onto the road that people insisted on keeping shut, so there was no airflow. On both days, the women’s bathrooms were out of toilet paper and hand soap. I stopped here while walking El Camino de Santiago.
