Maitina makes you feel like family and is always around with loads of information whenever you need it. We found this a lovely place to slow down and enjoy nature. The house is spectacular and has all the comforts, with a garden and barbecue where you can relax to the sound of the chickens and cowbells. A peaceful haven. 200% recommended.

The garden is a little paradise, and all around you there’s just nature. We spent a week at Casa Monaut and had a comfortable, peaceful stay. You can tell how much love and care went into making this place. Maitina is a lovely host who adds so much with her kindness and big smile.

Udi was the kindest, most affectionate and loyal dog I’ve ever met. He came along on every hike and stayed close the whole time, greeting us like he’d known us forever and always wanting attention. Maitina made sure everything went well and was attentive throughout our stay. She showed us around the house on day one and explained what we could do nearby, including the many hiking routes she had prepared around the village. The routes were just as beautiful as the Irati Forest, if not more so. The house itself was beautiful and spectacular, and the fireplace made the afternoons cozy. I could go on for hours about this week, one of the best vacations of my life. It’s hard to put into words how much I enjoyed it. I recommend it to everyone. Thanks so much, Maitina and Udi. We hope to see you again soon.

Maitina made us feel at home right from the start. She was so generous in sharing her little farm and letting us enjoy this lovely place. The village, the house, and the animals were all wonderful, but she was the best part. I’d already seen the love the owner had put into the place on the website, but arriving made it clear it was truly authentic and picture perfect. We’d found the house by chance while looking for somewhere quiet to explore the Irati Forest with my partner and two daughters. We were lucky to find Maitina and will definitely return. Thank you for everything!

The week flew by and we wished we could have stayed a month. It’s easy to head out hiking in the mountains without a car, and if you drive, the Irati Forest, Nagore Reservoir, Burguete, and other places are only a few kilometers away. For a quiet day, the garden is lovely, and there’s a barbecue outside and a library in the attic. Maitina looked after us from the moment we arrived and made us feel at home, with delicious vegetables from her garden. When she was away, Peio took care of us. They both gave us great suggestions for trails and restaurants. Udi, their intelligent, good-natured family dog, greeted us every day and joined many of our mountain hikes. It was such a treat to stay here. We left with heavy hearts and a strong wish to come back soon. Thank you so much!
