We had a fabulous three days on full board and booked the couples treatment package. It included several massages, like mud, salt, and ice, plus the thermal pools, jacuzzi, and heated outdoor pool. That last one was lovely at sunset. The food was fabulous, and they catered well for allergies, although I’m not sure all the waiting staff fully understood them. They could use some training. The grounds were beautifully maintained and a pleasure to walk around. The Casino bar was nice, the staff were friendly, and prices seemed reasonable for a captive audience. Parking on site was easy and felt very secure. Our room was great. We chose a superior exterior room, but I’m not sure the extra cost was worthwhile, as the rooms all seemed the same size and had exterior views. Check there’s a window if you’re unsure. I’d recommend it for couples. There were also a few families who seemed to be having a lovely time, with very well-behaved children.

The restaurants were awful, with some of the worst food I’ve had in Spain, and service was slow even though the staff were nice. It was loud, the beds were extremely stiff, and it was hard to sleep. The pools were fun for a little while, but everything felt too expensive.

I especially enjoyed the SPA, and the hotel had the atmosphere of an old, respectable place. The food was quite good and the staff very friendly. The rooms were a bit tired, but clean and had everything needed. We enjoyed our time at Termas hotel.

The thermal pools and the weather were perfect, but the restaurant was a real disappointment. They served me uncooked food without an apology, and I’d paid for a dinner I couldn’t even eat. It also felt like the restaurant staff neglected us because we didn’t speak Spanish, and didn’t try to treat us as they did the Spanish customers. This was especially disappointing since I’ve stayed in Archena hotels before. I expected at least the standard of Leon hotel, which is only three stars.

The toilet in our room had a glass door you could see through, and it didn’t even lock. The spa was meant to be a healthy-water place, but it cost an extra €30. The cold pool was warm, the staff were rude, and the swimming pools themselves were warm and boring. Absolutely terrifying. Not good for families.
