I stayed only one night and had to file a complaint, so I couldn’t post this review on Booking.com. Afterward, the host said I could leave at 9:30 with a refund, while checkout was at 10:30, so there wasn’t time to take more photos. Calling it Casa Petra doesn’t fit what we found. It felt like a House of Horrors. This is a short list, and I’m sure I’ve missed some problems: 1. The lady “did us the favor” of letting us in early, which we appreciated, but that didn’t make up for the rest. 2. The washing machine, which they advertise, didn’t work. I spent over an hour trying, and the host had to come turn it on because I couldn’t manage it. The microwave was unreliable too, sometimes heating food and sometimes not, depending on the day and time. 3. The kitchen had so little light that you’d need to bring a lamp from home to make macaroni. 4. You’re not allowed to flush toilet paper, but for a four-day stay they leave only a tiny bag. I don’t know where they expect you to put the paper. 5. In the middle of December, with rain and terrible weather all day, there was no heating. They left one small space heater for the whole house, then told me there were fans I could use. 6. Internet only worked in the living room. There was no signal anywhere else in the house. 7. Cleanliness was practically nonexistent. The whole place smelled damp and musty, and everything was stained. The sofa in the photos looked so filthy nobody would want to sit on it. During dinner, one of us suddenly found an ant on her hand. That says it all. 8. For parking, the owner told us to use the residents’ zone because “if you rent a house, you’re already a resident.” Don’t take that advice if you don’t want to be reported. It was a horrible experience, far from what’s advertised. I absolutely don’t recommend it.

The house was supposed to be cool, but at night that was true only in the back room. The musty smell was really out of place. The mattresses were thin and uncomfortable, with what seemed to be mites underneath, and the bed frame was affected too. The bathroom smelled of urine, the toilet was covered in hair, and there were cobwebs, spiders, and bugs on the ceilings. The girl who checked us in was very friendly, to be fair. But then she called to say we’d left sand on the floor, after all those problems? 🤔 If only we’d been able to get a refund. We didn’t complain about the return, which was a miracle, because everywhere we called was fully booked. We spent the weekend with the baby as best we could, but honestly, the place disgusted me.

By day five we were making a pizza and found a colony of worms in the oven. Bugs flew out, and the rotten smell was overwhelming. We had to leave and find another apartment. I absolutely don’t recommend this place. Zero hygiene, disgusting. When we first arrived, it was clear the floor hadn’t even been mopped. The kitchen wall had stains, and the ceramic hob was greasy and grimy. They advertise Wi-Fi, but it barely reaches the living room, with a very weak signal, and there’s no coverage in the rest of the house. The TV was much smaller than in the photos, and there was no toaster, despite some of the other listed things being there. P.S. If they still have the same oven, be careful. There’s a risk of food poisoning.

Xavi and Paulina were so kind, and Xavi sang “Happy Birthday” with such energy! We really enjoyed all the food at Casa Petra, where we came for dinner to celebrate my father’s birthday. We loved it.

It’s in a great location and very quiet inside, so we slept well. The cleanliness was a serious problem, though. The floors hadn’t been swept or mopped when we arrived, and the kitchen was filthy. There wasn’t much kitchenware, and what was there was either very dirty or in poor condition.
