Hotel El Convento

It was a peaceful spot, with two sun loungers and special towels out on the patio. Our terrace was large and semi-private, with breathtaking views, and the staff were kind and incredibly helpful.

The bathroom was a bit strange, with no curtain or door around the shower, so the whole room got soaked. Hot water was limited to 50 liters every 45 minutes, though we never ran out. There was only one small sink and not enough counter space. The huge terrace looked over the church and valley, but it didn't offer much privacy. Inside, the room felt cramped, with a slightly small but very comfortable bed and a perfect pillow, soft but supportive. Simple, nice decor and enough outlets for our gadgets. Breakfast didn't seem to begin until after 9am. The location was great for exploring old town Arcos, and it's a cute hotel in a beautiful town.

The rooms are clean and simple, while the location and staff were impeccable. I'd pay extra for a terrace, the view and seating area are incredible.

We cycled there, and they kept our bikes safely in a locked cellar. The staff were friendly and efficient, and breakfast was a good menu, well prepared. The place is lovely, very clean and stylish, with original paintings in the dining room. Rooms open onto nice terraces looking over the Andalucian countryside far below. It's perched at the top of the world, though getting there means tackling steep cobbled streets. Worth the climb. Don't miss the terrace, it's a gem!
