La Casa de Bovedas

Right in Arcos old town, this lovely B&B made a great base for exploring the village. Our balcony room was beautifully decorated, spotless, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The bathroom doors in our room wouldn't close properly, which could be improved. Still, we had a wonderful time and will definitely go back.

Getting there can be a bit of a chore since there's no parking and taxis are sporadic, but it's absolutely worth it. They were welcoming to our pups, too. We got a lovely welcome, a fantastic continental breakfast, a huge room, and incredible views from the shared spaces. It felt magical, like staying with a friend who was a Nancy Meyers movie star.

The guest house is packed with the hosts’ travel keepsakes and thoughtful creative touches, and it feels like Andalusia at its best. We loved having quiet little corners to read, nap, or just daydream, along with those wonderful views. The location in the old town is perfect for visiting the historic monuments, and there are several great restaurants just a short walk away. Prices here are lower than in nearby tourist towns. We live nearby and have holiday rentals ourselves, but came for a few days to relax and see the white villages. We were lucky to find this apartment free at the last minute, since people often book a year ahead. We’re among the top 1% of Airbnb hosts worldwide, so we know what goes into hosting well, and this place is right up there. The welcome was warm and personal, and the hosts are international, as you often find in Andalusia, where Europeans come to holiday. It’s an authentic old guest house, so North American visitors should know there’s no lift, and some rooms are reached by narrow stairs without railings. It isn’t suited to guests with mobility challenges. The host thoughtfully helps with taxis and parking, so don’t get annoyed if you can’t drive right up to the door.

Breakfast was served on the patio, with a lovely view. It costs €9 per adult and €4.50 for children. The hosts were kind and helpful, and their English was excellent. Our rooms were spacious and really comfortable, and the pool worked well for both our small kids and the adults. We spent one night here with family while on an excursion from Seville. It’s the most charming B&B I’ve ever stayed in, and I loved the decor and atmosphere. I’d highly recommend it.
