Juan Antonio made us feel right at home. He's a perfect host, and the food at his restaurant is incredible. We'll definitely come back 🙏

The village is worth a look around, and we were sorry to miss the local dinosaur museum. We had a really good dinner at their restaurant, above a lovely bar on the church square. The room and lounge were excellent, and the owner was wonderfully welcoming. Don't let the one-star rating put you off. Highly recommended.

After walking Congost de Mont Rebei for the day, we stayed one night at Casa Domenc. We couldn't find anywhere serving dinner late, and the restaurant Juan Antonio runs was closed too. Then he surprised us by inviting us to eat with his friends. That kindness, and how warmly he welcomed us despite our limited Spanish, made Arén unforgettable. He even did his best to speak English with us. The rooms were spotless, had lots of amenities, and there were little muffins waiting when we arrived. The shower was excellent, with good water pressure. Casa Domenc calls itself a one-star hotel, but to us it felt like five. If I could give it 10 stars, I would. Muchas Gracias!!

Domenc greeted us with such a sincere, kind welcome that the place felt like a second home. The apartment was spotless, nicely decorated, and well furnished, with a top-quality bathroom and housekeeping. The open, welcoming atmosphere and genuine kindness deserve more than a star rating. One of the nicest places I've ever stayed. Five stars and more. Thank you, Domenc and staff!
