The location is beautiful, and the rooms are nice and clean, though a few things feel dated. The TV standby light, for instance, was very bright at night. Our room also picked up a lot of noise from reception and the lounge. We could hear guests talking whenever they arrived, and it woke me up. We’d been looking forward to the stay, so that was disappointing. With the right room, and if you speak the local language, it could be a great stay. As international guests, we found communication difficult. The check-in emails were only in Spanish. My partner speaks Spanish, but the language barrier left me feeling less welcome. A bilingual email in Spanish and English would make more sense nowadays, with AI and translation tools available. We had to leave early for personal reasons and emailed the owners, in Spanish translation, to ask how to check out. They never replied. Since reception isn’t staffed for long hours, we checked ourselves out in the morning without hearing from them.

There’s a lovely balance here: you can enjoy some solitude or have company when you feel like it. The house is full of memorabilia, which gives it a homely feel, while still being modern and really comfortable. The welcome and service were hard to beat, and the surroundings are wonderful. Hope to come back soon!

We stopped for one night on the way to a wedding in France, and the views alone made it well worth the visit. The couple who run the house are lovely and very friendly, even though Monica’s English is limited. Breakfast was first rate, all fresh, with homemade goodies too.

The lake walks and the setting are stunning, and we felt right at home. Our air-conditioned room was comfortable, breakfast was nice, and the coffee was great. The hosts were friendly and welcoming. They suggested ordering pizza delivery for dinner, which was just right, and even provided a lovely local rioja to go with it. Just what you’d hope for from a small countryside hotel. Highly recommended.

Set among rolling hills, this is an amazing spot. The hosts are extremely nice, and the amenities are lovely. It’s only a few minutes from town, so everything is easy to get to. I’d gladly stay here again!
